Math & Science Club is an after school program for youth ages 7-12, and is run by a student coordinator from UBC. The program is designed to empower youth in taking ownership in making healthy lifestyle choices and to engage the youth in learning about scientific concepts. Club sessions run from 3:30-5:30pm at the Musqueam Community Centre. Each session begins with a healthy snack at 3:30pm, followed by an hour of science activity. The science workshops are designed to build upon the participants’ foundation in the subjects of math, physics, chemistry and biology. Through interactive hands-on activities, the science workshops promote leadership-building and critical thinking in a group setting. After the science workshop, volunteers from UBC Recreation will run recreation, games and sports in the gymnasium. The club wraps up with a prize draw at around 5:30pm. Join your friends from 3:30-5:30pm at the Musqueam Community Centre!
